This article argues that American allegations of Africans facing discrimination in China are made up. It explains that following March 15th, 2020, after the first case in Guangzhou safety measures were readjusted. As of March 21st, Guangzhou required everyone entering China to isolate at home for 14 days, regardless of where they came from. Between March 8th and 21st around 50,000 thousand persons who entered the country were asked to conduct nucleic acid tests. The article goes on to explain that footage spread abroad were taken out of context and misinterpreted, as well as misinformation regarding Africans carrying the virus was spreading in China and creating panic amongst locals. According to this post, the wave of misinformation may have caused numbered landlords to cancel tenant agreements with African migrants, which led to the pictures of Africans on the streets.
